Jim Sheppard

James Sheppard (1937-1977) was a rodeo cowboy who was Audie Murphy's stunt double in the 1960's on films including "Posse from Hell" (1961), "Six Black Horses" (1962), "Bullet for a Badman" (1964), and "Arizona Raiders" (1965).



Besides working with Audie Murphy, Jim has performed stunts in "Major Dundee" (1965), "The War Lord" (1965), "Harper" (1966), "Planet of the Apes" (1968), and "The Wind and the Lion" (1975).

While being dragged by a horse for the film, "Comes a Horseman" (1978), Jim was killed when his head struck a fence post. He was 40 years old.
